Award Winners at Club Dinner

Vauxhall Tankard Award - Alastair Burton The Vauxhall Tankard Award is presented to the individual who contributes the season's most outstanding match-winning performance. This year's winner was Alastair Burton for his undefeated 45 in the final Second XI match of the season against Lurgan where victory saw the team retain their place in Junior League 2.

Special Awards for Century Scorers Five players managed to rack up century scores for the Club during the 2012 season: Jamie Holmes, Mikey Taiaroa, Ollie Morrison, Alex Haggan, and John Kane Jnr.. Jamie and Mikey's centuries remarkably came in the same match at Middle Road against Ballymnea in July with scores of 134 and 176 respectively. Sadly, this was a game the First XI went on to lose, despite their efforts. New Zealander, Ollie Morrison clocked up score of 105 at Middle Road against Saintfield II in June - quite a staggering feat in a reduced 20-over match. Having come close to a century with 98 against CSNI II XI a couple of seasons ago, Alex Haggan notched up his maiden century for the Club in August at Derriaghy with an undefeated 101. Another maiden century scorer this season was John Kane Jnr.. A stalwart batsman with more than 20 seasons under his belt, John has come close on a number of occasions with scores in the 80's but this season saw him rack up a richly- deserved maiden century with an undefeated 102 against Cooke Collegians II in May.
