Gideon Janse van Rensburg Batting Style Bowling Style Right-hand Right-arm fast-medium Profile A young South African who was working in Northern Ireland and joined the Club from Woodvale CC in 2007. A pacy opening bowler, Gideon took 39 wickets for Woodvale in Section 2 in 2006, and the same number for Carrick in the Premier League in 2007. He is also a hard-hitting middle order batsman. Played for the same club in South Africa as former Carrick pro Riaan Kilian. ECB Level 1 coach. Won 1st XI Bowling Cup 2007. Unfortunately for both Gideon and the club he was unable to get his work permit renewed and had to return to South Africa at the end of 2007. He hopes to return at some stage.
