Paul is a young all rounder who was made available to the club by Northamptonshire CCC during the period when they had Davy Jacobs as a substitute overseas player, and he continued to play for the club for the remaider of the season following Davy's subsequent injury. He captained the Northants 2nd XI, and made 1 first class appearance before being released at the end of the 2007 season. He scored 55* on his Carrick debut v Lisburn. He is a batting allrounder, a right hand batsman and right arm fast medium bowler. A feature of Paul's game is his speed in running between the wickets, and he is also a superb fielder. Paul is the son of Stephen Coverdale the former Yorkshire and Northants wicketkeeper. Paul is now living and working in Australia where he runs a sporting memorabilia company.
