Schoolboy prodigy Paul joined Carrick from Cliftonville in 2009. He made his Ireland debut in 2008 when aged only 17 and a pupil at Belfast High School, where he broke every batting record scoring numerous hundreds. He played for both the NCU and Ireland at every age group, and was NCU Under 15 Player of the Year twice. He cracked 117 v Netherlands in the 2007 European Under 17 Championships, and was then called into the Under 23's as a last minute replacement v Scotland, where he grabbed the opportunity with both hands, scoring 110. After a successful Under 19 World Cup in Malaysia, he made his Senior Ireland debut on the tour to Bangladesh in early 2008, and has been a squad member ever since. Scored his first hundred for Ireland v Kenya, and played for Ireland in the World Twenty20 in England in 2009. Has now won over 100 caps for Ireland. Made his debut for Middlesex in 2010 and has become a key member of their 1 day side. Signed a new 3 year contract for the county in 2012. Scored 150 off 109 balls on his league debut for Carrick v Ballymena in 2009. No longer available for the club due to Middlesex and Ireland committments.
