Pat from Auckland, New Zealand, became the Clubs second Professional/Coach in 1989. Already an experienced cricketer, he helped the team back out of Section 4 at the first attempt. In doing so, he scored a 1st XI record 843 runs @ 60.21, which stood until beaten by Barry Cooper in 2003. He scored two hundreds, his 145 being the highest score by a 1st XI player until surpassed by Barry Cooper ten years later. He continued the good work with the Clubs youngsters started by his predecessor, Snehal Parikh. Pat returned to play in the special match to mark the Clubs 125th anniversary in 1993, picking up the Man of the Match award. Worked in London for a while, and was again a welcome visitor to the club during the summer of 2001. Now returned to New Zealand.
