A lot of runs were scored in 2008 with a healthy five individual centuries
contributing to the total. Three of the hundreds were scored by First XI
players, Andrew Cowden and Barry Cooper both notching up big scores in a
huge opening stand against Bangor and Barry Cooper again contributing a ton
against Muckamore.

|
Andrew Cowden, who had a great all-round season with 503 runs, including
a fantastic 151 no against Bangor is pictured
receiving his First XI Bowler
of the Year Award from Roy Torrens.

|
Barry Cooper, who scored centuries against both Bangor and Muckamore is
pictured receiving his First XI Batsman of the Year Award from Roy Torrens.

|
Joe Campbell was the only centurion for the Second XI this season with 113
against Cliftonville II, a contribution sufficient to secure the Vauxhall
Tankard for best individual match winning performance.
Perhaps the most notable of all our centurions this season, however, was
Alex Haggan, whose 119 no against Templepatrick became the highest ever
score for a Carrickfergus player at this level.
|
|
Joe Campbell, whose 113 against Cliftonville was enough to earn him
the Vauxhall Tankard award, which he is pictured receiving from Roy Torrens.
|
|
Alex Haggan, whose 119 against Templpatrick Under-15's saw him enter the
record books, is pictured receiving his Under-15 Batsman of the Year Award
from Roy Torrens.

The only hat-trick of the season was notched up by Club Cricketer of the Year,
Ryan Eagleson, remarkably in the first over of the first match of the season
against Lisburn.
TWo other young bowlers had notable hauls this season, Chris Campbell taking
7 for 13 for the Second XI in the promotion-clinching victory over Laurelvale,
and Andrew Palmer with remarkable figures of 6 for 1 for the Under-11s
against Ballymena.
|
|
Andrew Palmer, whose remarkable 6 for 1 bowling performance against Ballymena
contributed towards his Under-11 Player of the Year Award is pictured receiving
the award from Leslie Thompson.
